If you do active things together, it may be easier for you to talk to them and open up conversations. Children who exercise often show increased socialisation during the exercise and then afterwards have improved communication with parents(1).
Tips you may wish to share
Walking together is a good activity to do together and may allow you the opportunity to talk at the same time. If possible, this could be fit into you daily regime such as by walking to school together.
