Being physically active is one of the best things we can do for our physical and mental wellbeing. This is all the more important during the COVID-19 pandemic, as evidence suggests that regular physical activity can help maintain or enhance our mood and our immune response. These new resources to support young people and children with health conditions to be active are therefore very timely, and I hope that healthcare professionals will find them valuable.

Minister of Public Health, Sport and Wellbeing, Joe FitzPatrick

These new resources provide us with an excellent opportunity to promote the wide-ranging benefits of physical activity to our children and young people. We know that in these particularly challenging times with the current pandemic it is even more important to keep moving and keep active in as many aspects of daily life as possible.
